Overwatch or how Blizzard screwed it up

And right away, moderate your ardor, since I won’t talk about the gameplay. I like the gameplay of Overwatch. We will touch on the aspect that Blizzard is trying to show is much more than gameplay. Today we will talk about the lore component of the game.

The beginning of the https://big-casino.co.uk/ game can be considered a cinematic short Recall. Where is the second person of the game – Winston says that all sorts of disasters are happening in the world and that Overwatch needs to be put back together. And Overwatch is going to fight against… Who?? An attentive person will say that it is against Talon. Against a terrorist organization. But who’s in it? Let’s miss out on the action cannon fodder that appeared in comics and cinematics, and we’re left with only 2 people. Reaper and Viewmaker. But let’s not forget that “Overwatch was closed, half of them are now mercenaries”. So maybe part of Overwatch joined Talon? Maybe this is more than a conflict between heroic heroes and evil villains? Maybe this is a conflict of different worldviews?

But here let’s pay attention to the heroes for whom we are given to play. 21 heroes at the time of writing. 4 of them are capable of crime. And who are the remaining seventeen people?? The right heroes and neutrals who, in principle, are not interested in this conflict. Especially against this background of disinterest in the conflict, 2 characters stand out. Bastion and Zenyata. One of which is a kind combat robot, whose tower is demolished when threatened (Like in the cartoon “The Steel Giant”), and the other robot is a monk who went into the world to tell that omnics are able to live with people side by side. What did these two even forget on the battlefield?? Not to mention the fact that on opposite teams there may be, for example, Tracer and Winston, who are such close friends that it stings your eyes. And you think that Tracer will be able to unload a couple of clips into an old friend? That a kind, pretty woman, an ecologist, would decide to freeze and smash her enemies? And yes, by the way, May is a woman, she is 31 years old. But that’s all I’m talking about? What I’m saying is that the studio responsible for Overwatch tried to do more than it could. Trying to make the characters deeper, they forgot about motivation. If we consider the characters separately, then everything seems to be good, even excellent. But you can’t see the forest for the trees. And it would be fine if they were the first to do it. If only they had figured out for the first time that they could make not classes, but characters, that they could give them personalities, that they could develop the plot in a multiplayer shooter, that they could make cinematics and comics based on the universe, but… Yes. You got it right. Team Fortress 2. Where the conflict was clear, where nothing prevented the characters from representing the other side. Yes, for the sake of the great randomness, even the Team Fortress 2 comics were easier to read, since they were drawn with the expectation that they would be read from a monitor, and the Overwatch comics were made in standard scan. It is impossible to read them without enlarging the picture.

By writing this, I don’t mean to say that Overwatch is a bad game. I love playing it, I love watching the cinematics of it, but the fact that there is no single picture drives me crazy.
Thank you for your attention. Now you can write what a picky and stupid bad person I am.
