I read a manga about a jerk from hell and it’s an unironically masterpiece

It is human nature to get tired of monotony. Routine, like rust, eats away at our minds and forces us to look for something new that will help overcome boredom. Often such searches lead us to unexpected places and sometimes, in such places we find something unexpected. Exactly what we needed, although under normal conditions we would not have thought to look for it in such places. Something that will forever leave a mark in your memory, and perhaps in your life..

Looking for something new

In the evening I mentally went through what I could do. I didn’t feel like watching movies or TV series, but I had enough video games for today, so in the end the choice fell on manga. All that was left was to decide what to read. Nothing came to mind, so in the hope of stumbling upon some title that I once wanted to read but then forgot about, I went to the “popular” tab of Mangalibe. But I didn’t find anything like that, the catalog consisted either of works that I had already watched/read, or of those whose cover and titles did not make me want to read them. I was about to give up on this idea, but then something caught my attention. The manga, which was called..

Jerk Master Kurosawa

The title was so clickbait that I couldn’t help but smile. Of course, it was chosen solely to attract attention and probably has little to do with the real plot. And to make sure of this, I clicked on the manga to see the description. However, despite my skepticism, it said that the manga is really about an amateur who likes to calibrate his weapon. Wow, the lengths to which authors are not willing to go to get people to pay attention to their work. But it works! Here you go, one wrote a manga about an onanist, and joker readers raised it to the top 100 in popularity. Just so you understand, even the cult Hunter x Hunter didn’t make it there; the famous shonen only got 101st place.

But still, out of curiosity, I opened the first chapter and stared at the first page..

If you’re wondering why I didn’t close the manga after that and go to bed, there are two reasons for this.

Firstly, the Internet has long turned me into an immoral person who does not shy away from more vile things.

And secondly, having gone down to the comments, I discovered a whole bunch of people who had already read this work and unironically praised it and called it a masterpiece.

My curiosity was piqued and I started https://casinorise.co.uk/mobile-app/ reading..

You can also mention that, in my subjective opinion, there is very little typical anime cringe here. The author also often makes references to other anime, especially Death Note (and this is literally Light from the world of python stranglers).

Why am I writing this?

This might be one of my worst blogs. It probably turned out very chaotic and not entirely clear. I am writing this on the same day when I read all the chapters in one gulp, when the emotions are still fresh, when the work has not yet been digested, and the final impressions have not been fully formed.

But I’m not writing to share my emotions with you or to review a work that few people know about.

I’m writing this because I want to ask everyone who reads this to give a chance to works like "The Master of Jerk Kurosawa" from time to time. Because they are rarely paid attention to and will not receive an anime adaptation. But sometimes behind a provocative title or cover there are truly amazing stories hidden. And if you come across such a story that can evoke emotions, please share it on the Internet, recommend it to your friends, make memes based on it in the end.

Because these stories deserve to be known.

Because we need more stories like this.

Let me write something. The manga by artist Takuma Yokota and Katsura Ise tells the story of Kakeru Kurosawa, a high school student who has withdrawn from his surroundings and does not want to have much contact with them, who engaged in the “ritual” described in the title of the manga after classes in the girls’ school toilet. He was noticed by Aya Kitahara – Kurosawa’s classmate, a victim of bullying by local hooligans, and now the source of future problems for the protagonist.

At first glance, the manga looks like some kind of absurd comedy due to the main character’s hobby, or even a parody of overly pretentious loners who have an exorbitant mind and understand this world better than others. Kurosawa is quite like a hodgepodge of Yagami, Lelouch and the like, which the title doesn’t even hide: the authors love to make references. You could even say that at first the manga tries to make fun of this kind of story, and all sorts of different jokes here and there reinforce this idea. And there is nothing condemnatory in the above: the story is quite entertaining in this way, and in general the entire humorous component does not raise any questions for me.

Over time, you realize more that you marked your work in the genres of “drama” and “psychology” not for the sake of humor. Here, within the framework of an ordinary school story, it is written with its own events and twists, and the main character is not only a collective image of masterminds for jokes, but also quite a character with his own experiences, preferences and philosophy, and the approach of the plot begins to be questioned, and all this will look very natural for a teenager at his age. What will this lead to – this is the question you ask yourself while reading. Yes, the actions of the protagonist, even within the framework of the plot, are still an ass, just like what he will do with his classmate, but still fits into the framework of “youthful stupidity”.

And in many ways it concerns not only the main character: they are quite well written here, you understand their background, character and worldview. There are not many of them here, but it seems to me that this adds intimacy to the story, which works well for the atmosphere, which likes to switch from something carefree to oppressive very imperceptibly.

My only problem is probably the ending, which, for me, very well puts an end to all the subplots, but perhaps they were a little hasty with it, and some things could have been given a little more time. However, perhaps they were afraid to stretch the story. Well, perhaps in some places they overdid it with the drama. Oh, and yes, the classic “WHERE THE POLICE, SCHOOL, AUTHORITIES AND OTHERS ARE LOOKING” is also there, although for some reason it didn’t really bother me here, maybe because I’m not sure how appropriate it is for them to stir everything up into what’s happening here.

What can really be called a drawback is the drawing, because here it’s literally as if everything was drawn in an album with a simple pencil, and then it was all neatly placed and stuffed into a manga format. This is not at the level of VAN and the original Van Punch, not even close, but it still seems as if it was drawn by independent authors (by the way, maybe it is, I don’t know), because of noticeable problems with the backdrops, with the environment, and the characters also seem to be strangely drawn. Let’s just say that if you are a fan of contemplating titles, then this is probably not your choice. But the staging of frames and panels, as well as all sorts of images – this is generally in complete order, which is why even with all the shortcomings it’s pleasant to look at the manga. I also really like the local style, especially how the characters’ looks sometimes look.

Overall, I really liked it and can confidently recommend it. The name really does hide a great story behind it. Moreover, she could easily go into trash, and into whining and all 24/7, but no, this is really an amazingly well-made story about the stupidities of school life, where the heroes will have to face the consequences of their actions and understand how they want to relate to life.

Well, I hope this piece of writing put together in an hour is more like a full-fledged review.

P.S. Many thanks to the people who commented and are commenting on Kurosawa on Mangalib, your jokes made the reading process even better.
